My Desire...

Desire–verb (used with object) 1. to wish or long for; crave; want.

2. to express a wish to obtain; ask for; request: The mayor desires your presence at the next meeting.

Chip preached not too long ago on praying for the desire for God's will in your life.  It sounds a lot easier than it really is.  Since he said that, I have been praying that very thing.  It's hard to pray to really desire what God wants for your life vs the natural sinful desires of our hearts.  This morning on the drive to work I was praying and it hit me.  I really DO want what God has in store for me.  It's got to be something great! Whether its a blessing or a struggle, I know that I will cling to Him no matter what and that is His ultimate will for me.   I feel that His plan is slowly unveiling for my life since praying this prayer.  Try it.  It really works.

Long time, no updates.

So, Stephen finally took his part of the CPA and I can get a little computer time in... In between fantasy sports and studying for that test.. I didn't get much time in.  So, I'm sorry it's been a while :)

Since our last update... We have sold Gypsy :( ... and replaced her with Ethel Ophelia Cecila, the Envoy.  Here she is!!

Not the best picture of her, but I'm sure we will have more soon!

Also, holidays have come and gone..

Halloween:

Rocky loved the pumpkin!

Stephen was a homemade Alabama Fan! (He smelled like one too!)

Rocky was a LION!

Poor Rocky had a little too much Halloween!

Thanksgiving:

Me & Pepper Ann! She is so pretty!

our christmas decorations have been up now for about 3 weeks! I love Christmas and I love decorating the Hood house :)
The wreath Molly made us!

We went to Easely Amused with some folks from Mom's work! We painted Rudolf! Mom's friend Cindy and Mrs. Shirley went with us! It was so much fun!!

Stephen didn't make it to the Egg Bowl, due to his studying.. but here is a shout out to him and THS:

Shout out to the bulldogs - feel free to do the dawg pound rock to your rebel co-workers like I did! :) WHO LET THE DAWGS OUT!

Our small group does service projects once a month and the first one we did was downtown off of Fortification Street cleaning up a neighborhood.  We got to meet some sweet families and got a chance to see how great of an impact we can have on just a few people!

Stephen and I like to go to all of the traveling broadway shows at Thalia Mara Hall and we LOVE even more to take his grandmother "Nana." We always go out to eat before and Nana loves appetizers :)

If you want to go see some of the shows, CLICK HERE for more information!

I promise to update more often from now on :)

We love y'all and God Bless!

A new week in the life of a badger....

Stephen and I joined a small group through Pinelake last week.  We were blessed enough to join Robert Green's small group (the pastor who married us!).  We are reading through the book called Crazy Love.  Wow and it's serious.  It has given me a whole new light on my relationship with God.
Crazy Love

My favorite thing in the book so far is this: (just keep in mind that I'm a HUGE worrier and stresser)
"Worry implies that we don't quite trust that God is big enough, powerful enough, or loving enough to take care of what's happening in our lives

Stress says that things we are involved in are important enough to merit our impatience, our lack of grace towards others, or out tight grip of control.

Basically, these two behaviors communicate that it's okay to sin and not trust God because the stuff in my life is somewhow exceptional.  Both worry and stress reek of arrogance.  They declare our tendency to forget that we've been forgiven, that our lives here are brief, that we are headed to a place where we won't be lonely, afraid, or hurt ever again, and that in the context of God's strength, our problems are small, indeed."

God has really been tugging on my heart since reading this book only one week ago.  I'm headed in whole heartedly and I know that God will show me (and Stephen) what he has planned for our lives.

Now... a little lighter news!

We are getting ready to sell/trade in Gyspy.  For those of you who don't know her... she is my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse that I love so much.  I got her my junior year of high school and she has been there every step of the way.  Ok so I just spent 20 minutes looking for the old picture of me the first night I drove Gyps off the lot... I can't find it.. But here is a more recent picture of the lovely lady..

I am really sad to let her go :( but I know something better is to come! Gypsy has three favorite songs, just in case you cared... here they are!
Gypsy's Favorite song #1
Cher
and I can't explain this one.. she just likes it: Buttons

We went to the MSU vs. GA Tech game on Saturday.. boo... I can't believe the bulldogs can't beat the bumnble bees! But we had a GREAT Tailgate.. as usual! :)

Seth came!

Bert Friends!

J-Mo was there... We love a celeb sighting :)

and.. of course, the badgers :)

For those of you who DON'T know... The Mississippi State Fair starts Wednesday! Badgers love the fair :) Here are some pictures from last year!

We overdid it a little :)

and... yes the dog to the far right (not seth) did ride the ride.. i'm pretty sure he enjoyed it!

I hope everyone has a great week! God bless!

Learning to Live with a Badger

I know everyone will be so excited to know the life of two badgers learning to live as husband and wife.. yeah right.  But hopefully it will be fun and can help Stephen and I remember how much fun our lives are!

First of all, our wedding was WONDERFUL! We are so blessed with great friends and family who are so supportive of us! God is so good! It was so awesome, but overwhelming (as most of you could tell as I walked down the aisle) to see so many faces in the church!  The rehearsal dinner was probably my favorite part, besides wearing a pretty dress! So many words of encouragement and tears of joy! Stephen and I are so thankful for everyone that was a part of the process! And for anyone needing some lessons on a first dance, book now with us.. our schedule is filling up fast!

Now.. to the honeymoon.. I'll make it short and sweet.  Destin was amazing! We had an unbelievable suite and view!

The water is the clearest I have EVER seen in Florida! I thought we were on an exotic island!

Now... We are back in the real world and the fun is beginning! Back to work and normal routine.  No stressful planning - it's kind of bittersweet!  I went to the grocery store Wednesday night for the first time as a wife and cooked supper all in one night! Rocky has completely eaten my plant in the back yard - Stephen reaped the benefits of that and got to sweep off and pressure wash the back patio late night last week!

This weekend was our first football game as hadger & wadger! We were so excited to see our friends and park in our parking lot (#27 of course)! GO DAWGS!!!

My grandfather got married on Sunday to Mrs. Shirley and we are so excited for them.  It is nice to see happiness even at that time in your life!

Have a great Labor Day!
